As part of 200 subscribers special, here's a special one, what I hate about the current state of the Power Platform.
The hype peeps: Of course I get this, but LinkedIn peeps hyping up half baked features like the modern controls that never go GA or CoPilot Agents that are dumb. I snark everytime I see someone try to sell clearly halk baked features of the platform as the next best thing. They might be, but use proper language please, let the users know to not waste their time trying these features.
Same for AI features(esp. article like how model Y Obliterated all other models. No it didn't)
The forced features: Copilot option in PowerApps comes to mind. It pops up every second. Also, the DRAFT WITH COPILOT that you can't turn off even after going through 8 settings in canvas apps is so annoying.
Last one : the unsafe code popup, can you do some work around finding the author or provide way to verify the team who made the component?
The sneaky features: Mostly AI/search features which users don't need or will ever use in the admin panel comes to mind. Turn them off by default and allow us to turn them on.
Licensing: This is a simple one but people still get confused. I think there should be a full all you can eat licence for the whole platform, Fabric, CoPilot, Dataverse and Power Automate and Power Automate Desktop included, with generous runs for all. It'll make it so much more easy to see it to organisations.
Lack of templates in powerapps: Some templates haven't been updated since 2020. Some are just bad. I realise there's community samples but get a small team to churn out and update templates so we can showcase them to clients easily.Instead either we have to show our previous work or copy/install a GitHub repo that someone else made that won't install due to missing dependencies.
Or, hold a monthly template submission with a free prize or something so we have more templates to choose from.
